Bock Maschinenbau in Lorch near Stuttgart is your contract manufacturer for plant, apparatus and vessel construction: vessel courses, heat exchanger components, rotary kiln segments and pressure vessels to AD 2000 HP 0 — welded to DIN EN 1090-2 EXC3 and EN ISO 3834-2, from pressure vessel steel P355GH through to stainless steel.
Manufacturer qualification for pressure vessels, monitored by GSI SLV — including a 3.1 mill certificate to EN 10204.
Certified welders and qualified welding procedures — SAW, MAG and TIG for leak-tight, pressure-resistant circumferential and longitudinal seams.
Vessel courses, shells and cones rolled up to Ø 8,000 mm, from plate up to 120 mm thick.
Large apparatus up to 50 t part weight and 26 m in length — handled by the crane system with 25 t.
P265GH, P355GH, 16Mo3, stainless steel and duplex — pressure-vessel-grade materials, every heat with a 3.1 mill certificate.
Contract manufacturing for plant and apparatus construction calls for components that are leak-tight, pressure-resistant and permanently dimensionally accurate: vessels operate under internal pressure and temperature, rotary tubes and drums run continuously, heat exchangers have to stay tight for years. As a certified welding company we manufacture such assemblies to your drawing — from pressure vessel, stainless and fine-grain steel, designed for tightness, true running and seamless traceability.
The entire process chain is under one roof in Lorch: oxy-fuel cutting on 20 × 3.5 m up to 200 mm, plate rolling up to Ø 8,000 mm, SAW, MAG and TIG welding, vertical turning up to Ø 4,800 mm, CNC large-part machining up to 26 m as well as shot blasting to Sa 2.5 and industrial painting to EN ISO 12944. That shortens lead times and avoids interfaces between several suppliers.
Circumferential and longitudinal seams on courses and shells are preferably welded by the submerged arc process — with a high deposition rate and consistent, documented seam quality for pressure-bearing joints.

We manufacture to your drawing, among others:

Thick-walled plate, rolled into a dimensionally accurate cylindrical course — as a single course or welded into a complete vessel shell, up to Ø 8,000 mm.

Pressure vessels to AD 2000 HP 0 in P265GH and P355GH — with SAW-welded circumferential and longitudinal seams and a 3.1 mill certificate.

Tube sheets, shells and apparatus assemblies for heat exchangers — in CrNi stainless steel, drilled and face-machined on our CNC large-part machining centres.

Long, rotationally symmetrical tube bodies — rolled, circumferentially welded and turned true on the vertical lathe for smooth running.

Rotating drums for drying and cooling bulk material — as a completely welded and assembled large unit.

Cylindrical housings with flanges for process and exhaust air systems — blasted to Sa 2.5, coated up to corrosivity category C5-M.
We manufacture further apparatus and vessel assemblies to drawing — from the single part to the assembled large unit.
In apparatus and vessel construction the material determines the approval: for pressure-bearing parts we process heat-resistant pressure vessel steels such as P265GH, P355GH, 16Mo3 and 13CrMo4-5, for corrosive media stainless steels from 1.4301 to 1.4571 as well as duplex 1.4462. Added to these are structural steel S235/S355 and fine-grain structural steel up to S1100 for support structures — over 40 grades in total.
Every heat is traceable through the 3.1 mill certificate to EN 10204. Missing or deviating material certificates are obtained retrospectively via the re-stamping certificate — authorised by GSI SLV München. This keeps the material documentation seamless across the entire assembly, from the plate blank to final acceptance.
Materials we process
Four plate rolling machines cover the range from the thin-walled stainless steel shell to the thick-walled pressure vessel course — the circumferential seam is welded in-house directly afterwards.

Load-bearing steel assemblies for plant construction are manufactured to DIN EN 1090-2 EXC3, welded to EN ISO 3834-2 with certified welders and qualified welding procedures. For pressure vessels the AD 2000 HP 0 manufacturer qualification is added — monitored by GSI SLV.
Pressure-bearing seams need documented proof of testing. Our inspectors are qualified to Level 2 to DIN EN ISO 9712:
We define the scope of testing and documentation with you for each order — from a single seam inspection to a complete inspection plan with a 3.1 mill certificate to EN 10204.

Yes. We manufacture pressure vessels and apparatus to AD 2000 HP 0 — the manufacturer qualification for pressure vessels, monitored by GSI SLV — from heat-resistant pressure vessel steels such as P265GH, P355GH and 16Mo3, welded to EN ISO 3834-2 and EN 1090-2 EXC3.
The complete chain to your drawing: oxy-fuel cutting, plate rolling, SAW, MAG and TIG welding, CNC large-part machining and vertical turning, non-destructive testing as well as shot blasting and industrial painting — from the single vessel course to the assembled large unit such as a rotary drum dryer or a rotary kiln segment.
Pressure vessel steels P265GH, P355GH, 16Mo3 and 13CrMo4-5, stainless steels 1.4301 to 1.4571, duplex 1.4462 and structural steel S235/S355 — over 40 grades, each with a 3.1 mill certificate to EN 10204.
We roll shells, half-shells and cones up to Ø 8,000 mm from plate up to 120 mm; complete apparatus is handled up to 50 t and 26 m in length by the crane system with 25 t in Lorch.
By our own Level 2 inspectors to DIN EN ISO 9712 — visual, dye penetrant and magnetic particle testing directly in-house. Ultrasonic testing is carried out at our plant by certified inspection personnel of our cooperation partner. We define the scope of testing per order; the documentation covers inspection reports and the 3.1 mill certificate to EN 10204 for every heat.
