Demmeler rotary table for rotationally symmetrical and heavy workpieces – heavy-load handling up to 50 t via the 2×25 t crane.
Open at the top – no gantry height limit; bulky heavy parts are picked up freely by crane.
2×25 t crane system and shop infrastructure for large-format workpieces.
Structural steel, fine-grained structural steel up to S1100, Hardox 400/500 and stainless steel 1.4301/1.4571.
Floor-type milling-boring center – what the Soraluce FR 20,000 delivers
A floor-type milling-boring center carries the milling head on a travelling column instead of within a gantry. This leaves the working envelope open at the top with no height limit – bulky and tall components are picked up freely by crane and machined in a single setup.
The Soraluce FR 20,000 combines milling, boring and line boring in one machine. The tilting milling head makes complex contours and several workpiece faces accessible in a single setup; the rotary table (Demmeler 2,500 × 2,500 mm) additionally accommodates rotationally symmetrical and heavy workpieces.
Programming is done from CAD data or drawing dimensions via the Heidenhain iTNC 530 – for single parts, prototypes and small batches alike, as contract manufacturing with no minimum quantities. The 2×25 t crane runway secures the setup of workpieces up to 50 t.
After machining, components can be passed directly on to gantry milling, horizontal boring, welding, sandblasting and painting – all within the same facility in Lorch, without external logistics between the processing steps.

Typical applications of the floor-type milling-boring center
The Soraluce FR 20,000 at Bock is used for:
- Large housings, frames and welded assemblies with machining on several sides
- Bulky, tall components with no gantry height limit
- Holes, fitting holes and line-bored bearing seats on large parts
- Rotationally symmetrical workpieces on the rotary table
- Pre-machined raw parts as a production stage for welded structures
Machined components can be welded, blasted and painted within the same facility. The open working envelope is particularly suited to bulky, tall and heavy components that a gantry machine would limit in height. Quality documentation and dimensional reports in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 are available as standard.

Materials for the floor-type milling-boring center
Bock uses predominantly European quality steels:
- Structural steel S235, S355
- Fine-grained structural steel up to S1100 – high-strength, weldable
- Hardox 400 / 500 – wear-resistant steel
- Stainless steel 1.4301, 1.4571 – corrosion-resistant
- Special steels to drawing and customer specification
Material certificates are provided on request or in accordance with project requirements.

Frequently asked questions about the floor-type milling-boring center
What is a floor-type milling-boring center?
In a floor-type milling-boring center, a travelling column carries the milling head. Unlike a gantry machine, the working envelope is open at the top – bulky and tall components can be picked up and machined freely by crane.
How large may the components be?
The Soraluce FR 20,000 offers travels of X 20,000 · Y 4,000 · Z 1,600 mm and a rotary table of 2,500 × 2,500 mm. Workpieces up to 50 t are set up via the 2×25 t crane.
Which machining operations are possible?
Milling, boring and line boring in a single setup – with a tilting milling head for complex contours and several workpiece faces. Welding, sandblasting and painting then follow within the same facility.
Do you also manufacture single parts?
Yes. Machining is carried out as contract manufacturing with no minimum quantities – single parts, prototypes and small batches alike, programmed from CAD data or drawing dimensions.
