Saw Cutting – Capacity and Process
Automatic saw cutting at Bock is carried out using fully automated cold-saw machines with bundle cutting capability. Tubes, hollow sections, I-beams (IPE, IPB/HEB, HEA), channels (UPN), angle steel, beams and round bar are cut precisely to length – without secondary manual operations.
The in-house material store holds several hundred tonnes of steel, fine-grain structural steel and stainless steel in various sections and grades. Saw cutting is performed to drawing or cut list. Small quantities and large series are handled equally.
Cut-to-length tubes and profiles are delivered directly as blanks for welded assemblies, frames and structural fabrications.
Saw cutting at Bock is performed under documented quality procedures to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015. Material certificates accompany all material from the stock warehouse through to the finished cut-to-length product. Cut dimensions and squareness are verified with calibrated measuring instruments. For series production, first-article inspection with dimensional records is available. Cut tubes, profiles and sections are transferred internally to the welding and fabrication departments without intermediate storage, ensuring fast turnaround and full material traceability throughout.
Thanks to our own material stock, sawn cuts from tubes, profiles and round steel can be provided at short notice. Customer-supplied material is accepted and processed on request. Smallest quantities and single cuts are handled just as readily – with no minimum quantities or restrictions.
After pre-fabrication, sawn cuts are passed directly to the adjacent production areas in Lorch: welding, bent parts and CNC machining. External logistics between production steps are eliminated, significantly reducing lead times and overall costs.
Contract manufacturing in sawn-cutting is carried out in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2015. Our quality management system and material certificates meet the requirements of demanding customers in vehicle, plant and crane construction.
