Plastics technology: machine frames, conveying technology & steel fabrication as your supplier
As a steel fabricator and contract manufacturer we supply plastics technology with the steel around plastics processing — welded machine frames and structures, conveying technology and silos for granulate, enclosures and platforms as well as wear-resistant components, manufactured to DIN EN 1090-2 EXC3 in Lorch.
We process steel, not plastic — frames, conveying technology and components for plastics processing.
Welded machine frames and load-bearing structures to EN 1090-2 EXC3 and EN ISO 3834-2.
Wear-resistant components for abrasive regranulate and fillers.
Large frames and plant assemblies up to 50 t on the 2×25 t crane system.
Supplier for plastics technology
There is steel around every plastics machine — frames that carry extruders and injection moulding units, conveying technology for granulate, enclosures for noise control and wear-resistant components for abrasive fillers. It is exactly this steel that we manufacture as a certified welding contractor: welded, machined and coated, dimensionally accurate and ready to install.
From plate cutting through welding and vibration stress relief to CNC large-part machining, shot blasting and industrial painting, everything is produced under one roof in Lorch. Existing frames and assemblies are also repaired and refurbished — regardless of the original manufacturer.
Typical components for plastics technology
For plastics machines, pelletising and recycling plants we manufacture to drawing:
- Machine frames & base frames — welded and CNC-machined frames for extruders, injection moulding peripherals and converting machines
- Screw conveyors, silos & hoppers — material handling for plastic granulate and regranulate
- Rotary drum dryers & drum coolers — rotating drums for drying and cooling granulate and bulk materials
- Vibrating tables & vibratory conveyors — vibration assemblies for granulate and bulk material conveying
- Enclosures, platforms & load-bearing structures — noise control enclosures, maintenance platforms and access platforms for plastics plants
- Wear parts — linings, wear plates and components for abrasive fillers, size reduction and recycling
Further steel assemblies for plastics technology to drawing on request.
Machine frames and structures for plastics machines
The heart of many plastics machines is a rigid, dimensionally accurate steel frame. We manufacture welded and low-stress treated machine frames, base frames and assemblies for extruders, injection moulding peripherals, pelletising plants and converting machines — machined on gantry mills and boring mills for precise clamping surfaces and fits.
From cutting through welding and vibration stress relief to CNC machining, shot blasting and painting, the complete frame is produced under one roof in Lorch — ready to install and with material documentation.

Quality & testing for plastics technology
Machine frames, platforms and conveying technology are load-bearing welded structures — we manufacture them to DIN EN 1090-2 EXC3, the highest execution class certified in practice, and with EN ISO 3834-2 we meet the comprehensive quality requirements for welding. Material documentation to EN 10204 is standard.
Non-destructive testing in-house
Load-bearing frames and continuously loaded conveying technology need reliable test evidence:
- Visual testing (VT), dye penetrant testing (PT) and magnetic particle testing (MT) are carried out by our own inspectors with Level 2 to DIN EN ISO 9712 directly in production — with no external waiting times.
- Ultrasonic testing (UT) is carried out at our plant on a project basis by certified inspection personnel of our cooperation partner. Supplementary destructive tests such as tensile tests are placed with accredited partner laboratories.

Frequently asked questions — plastics technology
Does Bock process plastics itself?
No. We are steel fabricators and contract manufacturers and we produce the steel around plastics processing: machine frames, conveying technology, silos, enclosures and wear parts. Plastics processing itself — extrusion, injection moulding, pelletising — is done by our customers.
Does Bock build machine frames for extruders and injection moulding plants?
Yes. We manufacture welded, low-stress treated and CNC-machined frames and base frames for extruders, injection moulding peripherals and pelletising plants — dimensionally accurate and ready to install.
Does Bock manufacture wear-resistant components for plastics recycling?
Yes. For abrasive regranulate, fillers and size reduction we use wear-resistant grades such as Hardox 400/500 — as linings, wear plates and complete assemblies.
Looking for steel fabrication for your plastics technology?
Send us your drawings for frames, conveying technology or wear components — we will assess manufacturing to EN 1090-2 EXC3 and prepare a no-obligation quote.
