MAG welding of steel assemblies and special-purpose machinery
Submerged arc welding (SAW) on fully automated systems
TIG welding for high-quality joints and special materials
Welding to drawings and welding plans (DIN EN 1090 EXC3)
Quality control and self-inspection of weld seams
Tack welding and assembly of structural components
No two parts are the same: vessels for plant engineering, box girders for structural steel, rolled XXL pipes, screw conveyors, frames for special-purpose machinery — all real components from our shop floor. And none of them ends up in a display case: what is welded here goes into fifteen industries — into cranes and presses, into power plants, bridges, offshore installations and specialist foundation engineering. Structures that have to last for decades out there, and that nobody comes back to fix later. Prototype, batch size 1 or small series, from S235 through Hardox and stainless steel to high-strength fine-grain structural steel S1100, welded to DIN EN 1090-2 EXC3 on assemblies up to 50 t. Every weld has a job of its own — and it is inspected, not just made. If you are after variety and a real challenge, you will find both here.
Your Profile
Valid welder's certificate to DIN EN ISO 9606-1 — at least steel S355 from 5 mm plate thickness
Several years of experience welding steel assemblies
Independent and precise working approach
Willingness to work to quality standards in a certified DIN EN 1090 environment
An advantage: completed apprenticeship as a welder, metalworker or structural mechanic
An advantage: experience with TIG and submerged-arc welding as well as high-strength and stainless steel

Submerged arc: 7 m boom, 1,250 A
You weld MAG, TIG and fully mechanised submerged arc on ESAB systems with booms reaching up to 7 m and welding currents up to 1,250 A.
Assemblies up to 50 t, no assembly line
You join large-format assemblies and special-machine parts up to 50 t on the 2×25 t crane — from S235 to S1100, Hardox and stainless steel, every component a one-off from batch 1.
EXC3 with in-house NDT
You weld to DIN EN 1090-2 EXC3 and EN ISO 3834-2 — your welds are inspected and documented by VT, PT and MT to ISO 9712 directly in the works.

Good German makes everyday work on the shop floor easier: drawings, welding plans and team coordination are all in German. It does not have to be perfect. At Bock, colleagues from many nations work side by side, some with little German — what counts is the craft. If in doubt, a short phone call is best: a conversation clears this up faster than a form.
Can I do a trial workday?
Yes. Trial work is common with us and has proven its worth: a day on the shop floor shows both sides more than a long conversation — what the work really looks like and how it fits in the team. The date is arranged individually once the application has arrived. The day serves mutual acquaintance and is not paid.
What happens after I apply?
Every application is reviewed personally here. Usually a short phone call follows, then a personal interview and, where it fits, a trial workday. Because we go through the documents thoroughly, a reply can sometimes take a little while; nothing gets lost in the process. For questions in between, a call to the extension above helps.
Will my foreign qualification be recognised?
That cannot be answered in general terms. The recognition of foreign qualifications is not decided by us but by the competent authorities, and it is always assessed case by case. For an application this is not an exclusion criterion: what counts is what someone can do and wants to do — existing certificates, work experience, the trial workday and honest interest in the job.
Which documents do I need?
A cover letter is not required. A CV and references do belong with it, though — without them an application cannot be assessed. It also helps to add a short introduction in the message field: a few sentences about experience and motivation often say more than a certificate.
