Turner / Conventional Lathe (m/f/d)
Full-time · Permanent · 73547 Lorch, Baden-Württemberg · Immediate start
About the Role
As a Turner (m/f/d), you will machine drawing parts on our conventional lathes – TOS SUS 63H up to Ø 655 mm and 2,000 mm turning length, Meusser up to Ø 350 mm – in 73547 Lorch, Ostalbkreis, near Schwäbisch Gmünd.

Your Responsibilities
- Turning single parts and small batches on the conventional lathes TOS SUS 63H and Meusser
- Longitudinal and face turning, parting off, drilling and thread cutting to drawing
- Producing turned parts such as bolts, bushings, shafts and fitted parts
- Reworking and adapting components from our own production
- Selecting tooling, cutting values and clamping devices without a program specification
- Measuring and inspecting with vernier calliper, micrometer and dial gauge
Two machines, no program: on the TOS SUS 63H you turn shafts and bolts up to Ø 655 mm and 2,000 mm between centres, on the Meusser the smaller parts up to Ø 350 mm. You read the drawing, choose tool, speed and feed yourself, clamp in the chuck or between centres and work up to the dimension with vernier calliper and micrometer — longitudinal and face turning, parting off, drilling, threads. Usually batch size 1: fitted bushings, shoulders and threads for components that carry on in the hall next door, plus rework on parts from our own production. The large rotational parts run on our CNC vertical turning lathe, whose table takes workpieces up to Ø 4,800 mm, and are a separate position — here you turn what the vertical lathe is too big for.
Your Profile
- Completed training as a turner, cutting machine operator or industrial mechanic
- Confident handling of the conventional centre lathe
- Confident reading of technical drawings including form and position tolerances
- Experience in measuring and inspecting with hand measuring equipment
- Independent and precise way of working
What awaits you with us
What you work with every day — the equipment, tasks and technology of this position.
Craft instead of post-processor
On the TOS SUS 63H and the Meusser you decide on tool, speed and feed — no simulation, no post-processor, but drawing, handwheel and measuring equipment.
Ø 655 mm, 2,000 mm between centres
The TOS SUS 63H takes shafts up to 2,000 mm turning length and Ø 655 mm, the Meusser the smaller parts up to Ø 350 mm — two machines for the full range of drawing parts.
The parts the vertical lathe is too big for
Large rotational parts run on our vertical turning lathe up to Ø 4,800 mm. What cannot sensibly be clamped there, you turn: bolts, bushings, shafts and fitted parts from batch size 1.
