Training on machines up to 26 m
You train on named CNC centres such as the Zayer Thera W (up to 26 m travel) and the vertical lathe Ø 4,800 mm — one of the largest milling travels and rotary tables in the region.
Real individual parts, not an assembly line
Instead of a series line, you produce individual parts and small batches from batch size 1 to drawing — and create your first CNC programs under guidance on modern Heidenhain controls.

The apprenticeship starts on 1 September each year and runs for 3.5 years. A later start within the current training year is looked at case by case.
Can the apprenticeship be shortened?
Yes. With good results in the workshop and at vocational school, shortening it is possible — we then file the application together.
Can I continue an apprenticeship I started elsewhere?
Yes, by arrangement. In your application, tell us which trade you have been training in so far and for how long — what can be credited we sort out in the interview.
Where is the vocational school?
That depends on the trade. CNC machinists go to Aalen. Structural metalworkers are in Schwäbisch Gmünd in the first year and in Ellwangen after that.
Who looks after me during the apprenticeship?
You get a fixed contact person: several master craftsmen and qualified trainers teach here, and from day one one of them is responsible for you and stays with you through the whole apprenticeship. During the apprenticeship you move through several stations in production and learn at each of them from experienced skilled workers who have been with us for many years and pass their knowledge on. We do not expect prior knowledge — what counts is attitude, willingness to learn and reliability.
Is there a job after the apprenticeship?
We train people in order to keep them. We do not promise anything before the final exam — with good performance the chances of being taken on are very good.
Can I get to know the company beforehand?
Yes. A trial day (taster day) is possible and has proven its worth: a day on the shop floor shows both sides more than a long conversation. The date is arranged individually once your application has arrived. The day is for getting to know each other and is not paid.
Which documents do I need?
A cover letter is not necessary. A CV and your last two school reports do belong with it — without them an application cannot be assessed. A short introduction in the message field also helps: a few sentences about what interests you in the trade often say more than a grade.
How much holiday do I get?
30 days a year — the same as everyone else in the company.
