## Which materials does Bock process?

As a contract manufacturer for steel construction and special machinery, we process a broad range of steels and metals – from classic structural steel through high-strength fine-grain steel and wear-resistant steel to stainless steel, duplex and pressure vessel steel. Which material is used depends on your drawing, the load and the intended purpose.
A material stock of several hundred tonnes in common grades makes us fast and flexible: plates, sections and tubes are in stock, so we can react at short notice and cut directly from stock – without lengthy material procurement and without minimum quantities.
We prefer European quality steels with traceable origin. For special materials this is not always possible – here the origin depends on availability and your specification. For all materials used we provide material certificates to EN 10204 on request.
From cutting through forming and certified welding to CNC large-part machining and testing, the entire processing runs at one site in Lorch – one contact, seamless traceability throughout.
All manufacturing steps at a glance
Plates, sections and tubes in common grades held in stock – short response times and cutting straight from stock, without lengthy material procurement.
We prefer European quality steels with traceable origin; for special materials according to availability and customer specification.
Inspection certificate 3.1 to EN 10204 with material, heat and sample – provided per project for the materials used.
Material marking to EN 10204 transferred onto every cut part – authorised by GSI SLV München, on request.
Lamination and ultrasonic testing via our cooperation partner, VT/PT/MT in-house as well as material tests such as tensile and impact testing on request – depending on the inspection requirement.
You supply your own material or we procure the right materials – we process both (material provision).

## From material to component – our processing methods

Processing runs entirely at our Lorch site – cutting, welding, machining. An extract of the methods:

### Oxy-fuel cutting

Flame-cutting of structural steel, fine-grain steel and wear steel up to extreme wall thicknesses – on a 20-metre format.

### CNC plasma cutting

Precise plate cutting in steel, stainless steel and wear steel with automatic bevel cut up to ±45°.

### Saw cutting

Tubes, sections, beams and round material cut to size – straight from our own material stock.

### Welded assemblies

Certified welding to DIN EN 1090-2 EXC3 – steel, wear steel, stainless steel and fine-grain steel up to 50 t.

### CNC gantry milling

Large-part machining on the Zayer Thera W up to 26 m of travel – steel, wear steel, stainless steel and customer-supplied castings.

### CNC turning & vertical turning

Rotationally symmetrical heavy parts up to Ø 4,800 mm in steel, wear steel and stainless steel.

### CNC horizontal boring mill

Boring, back-boring and milling on heavy components – three TOS-Varnsdorf WHN 13 with rotary table, including cast housings to drawing.

### CNC large-part machining

The overview: milling, boring and turning for heavy parts up to 50 t – all methods under one roof.

## Material certificates, re-stamping and material testing

We document material quality and origin per project. For the materials used we provide inspection certificates 3.1 to EN 10204 – with material, heat or melt, plus sample and plate number.

### Re-stamping & traceability to EN 10204

When a large plate is cut into individual parts, only the remaining plate carries the original material marking. Authorised by GSI SLV München, we transfer this marking to each individual cut part in accordance with the standard, so that every part remains clearly assigned to its certificate.
- Visual (VT), dye-penetrant (PT) and magnetic-particle (MT) testing are available in-house through our own inspection personnel at Level 2 to DIN EN ISO 9712.
- Lamination and ultrasonic testing (UT) are carried out at our plant on a project basis by certified inspection personnel of our cooperation partner. Material tests such as tensile and notched-bar impact bending tests we carry out via a testing laboratory when required – depending on the requirement and inspection specification. Volumetric testing (radiographic testing RT, ultrasonic testing UT) is, insofar as commissioned, provided by qualified partners.
This allows material properties, internal irregularities and laminations in the material to be verified and documented – the basis for components subject to inspection.
We agree the scope of testing and documentation per project according to drawing, standard and customer specification – from a simple material certificate to a certified re-stamping declaration.

## Test, certify, treat – quality around the material

Material testing, traceability and stress relief complement the processing:

### Non-destructive testing (NDT)

Lamination and ultrasonic testing (UT) via our cooperation partner as well as VT, PT and MT in-house – material and weld inspected without damaging the component.

### Re-stamping declaration

Material marking to EN 10204 from the inspection certificate 3.1 onto every cut part – authorised by GSI SLV München.

### Vibration stress relief

Targeted reduction of residual stresses in the material – without a furnace, as an economical alternative to stress-relief annealing.

### Certifications & evidence

DIN EN 1090-2 EXC3, EN ISO 3834-2, ISO 9001 and AD 2000 HP0 – the tested quality framework for your materials.

CNC large-part machining

### Is an inspection certificate 3.1 to EN 10204 provided?

URL: https://bock-gmbh.com/en/services/materials/#faq-abnahmepruefzeugnis-en-10204

Yes. For the materials used, inspection certificates 3.1 to EN 10204 with material, heat and sample are provided per project. In the steel trade this document is often loosely called a “works certificate 3.1” — however, “works certificate” renders the German “Werkszeugnis 2.2”, which is the test report under DIN EN 10204; what is supplied is the inspection certificate 3.1. When plates are cut up, the marking is transferred to every individual part by re-stamping.

### What is a lamination test?

URL: https://bock-gmbh.com/en/services/materials/#faq-doppelungspruefung

The lamination test is an ultrasonic test (UT) that detects internal material separations (laminations) in the plate. It is available at our plant per project through certified inspection personnel of our cooperation partner.
Non-destructive testing (NDT)

### Are material tests by a testing laboratory possible?

URL: https://bock-gmbh.com/en/services/materials/#faq-materialpruefungen-prueflabor-moeglich

Yes. Tensile tests, notched-bar impact bending tests and further material tests are possible when required via a testing laboratory – depending on the requirement and inspection specification.
Certifications & evidence

### Where do the materials used come from?

URL: https://bock-gmbh.com/en/services/materials/#faq-stammen-eingesetzten-werkstoffe
